It's my Day 6 in the Sixth Season of the Food Diary Game. It's Sunday, and I have made my special eggplant dip from scratch today :)

My food-day started with hot black coffee, as usual.
I needed bay leaves and other things in the kitchen; plus, I wanted to buy medregal, the "poor cousin of tuna", which we love to eat baked with potato slices and julienned onions.
I bought what I needed.
And also bought fish, including the medregal. Mackerel and medregal tuna. The guys cleaned them for me; I just washed them and stored them in the freezer.
I used some of the mackerel for our brunch.
You have no idea of how much I enjoy this breakfast: fried fish, arepas, avocado slices and lemon. My favorite version includes sardines, but they are not selling them these days because of the closed season.
We had latte for dessert. I added sugar because I like something sweet after I eat fish.
I spent the afternoon working in the studio and even had time for a short nap. When I woke up, I was in the mood for Arabian flavors, so I went t o the fridge and took what might serve the purpose.
I charred two small eggplants. I put them unpeeled, directly over the flame x 10 minutes. Then I let them cool down completely.
While the eggplants cooled down, I charred a small red bell pepper.
After the eggplants were at room temperature, I cut them open lengthwise with the tip of a knife.
...And scraped out the flesh with a tablespoon.
Then it was time to prepare some tahini. I blended toasted sesame seeds, olive oil, salt and lemon juice in the immersion mixer.
First I mixed 60 ml of olive oil and 4 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds.
Then I added the juice of 2 small lemons and 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
And finally, I added the flesh of the eggplants and 1 tablespoon of freshly crushed garlic.
The result was a thick and soft cream.
I served this eggplant dip with ground cumin and olive oil spread on top.
Once the charred red bell pepper had cooled, I removed the burnt skin by scraping it with my fingertips.
Then I cut it into strips and put it in olive oil and crushed garlic.
I also prepared some slices of tenderloin seasoned with salt, lemon juice, and freshly crushed garlic.
I served all of this along with fried eggs with pepperoncino on top and bread.
Oh my! Every combination as a success.
I enjoyed this dinner like a happy child.
