steps of parboiling rice in my locality.
Hello @Steemfood,am representing from the city of abakaliki, ebonyi state, Nigeria,I want to get you guys familiar with the process of parboiling rice in my locality,..
So far Abakaliki Rice remains the best within nigeria, this is because of our land texture and our own way of parboiling before taking the it to the milling engine for retailers and consumers distribution...
step.1
The drum pot will be well positioned ..
step 2
Each drum pot contain six bags of rice, depending the size of the bag...
step.3,
Enough water must be added to enable the Rice to boil uniformly
step.4,
It took about 20 to 25 minutes to boil, but it depends on the pressure of fire ...
##step.5,
After 10 hours, which the following day,it will be separated from the old water to a fresh drum pot,2 or 3 bucket of water will be added to it to enable it steam very well before setting fire ..
step.6,
The firewood must be burning very quick to achieve good result..
step.7,
When vapour cover's top of the pot,it means that the steam is enough...
##step.8,
Push down the drum pot and split the rice ...
step.9,
The rice will be split all over the mat to enable it dry faster....
Sun is the source of energy in this stage,so when the weather is cloudy it becomes a big challenge to us..
step.10,
Remaining some hours to dry..
step.11,
Well dried and packed...ready to mill..
Parboiling rice is not an easy process but we take all this step to get a better test and to differentiate our goods from others...
Thanks to @steemfood community for this great opportunity to share my experience with you guys.
Thank you
