Hello everyone. Hi to all steemians!I hope everyone is in good health and be bless always with the gift of life.

Today, allow me to share my home cook "Paksiw na Isda", this dish of mine use our home grown Kamias as the primary ingredient that gives a sour taste.

The pictures shows the actual picking of Kamias fruit. I will use this fruit in our dish today.

What is "Paksiw na Isda"?
This is a Filipino dish and one of the simplest way of cooking which utilizes vinegar, water and spices. Today, I will use a little bit of vinegar and use my home grown camias as a natural ingredient to get that sour taste.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cook time: 45 minutes
Total time: 55 minutes
Servings: good for 3-5 person

Ingredients:

3/4 kilograms of fish cleaned
14 pieces of Kamias sliced
1 thumb of ginger sliced
1 knob of garlic crushed and chopped
2 long peppers
1 spring onions
1 red onion sliced
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 teaspoon of vinegar
2 cups water
salt to taste
a pinch of msg or monosodium glutamate

  • Step 1: Arrange the fish in a cooking pot along with the camias, ginger, garlic, spring onion and long green pepper.

  • Step 2: Pour 2 cups of water, add a teaspoon of vinegar,1 tablespoon of olive oil, salt and msg to taste.Let it boil

  • Step 3: Cover and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes. Add more water if needed.
