I have always loved trying different foods from different countries and regions of the world!
Learning different cultures and cuisines has always been my passion!
And in the end...I became executive chef of some of the world top hotels and restaurants!
Now I no more work in hotels and I have my own restaurant where I accept Steem and other cryptos as method of payment!
Turkish food!
Without any doubt, Turkish cuisine is ranked among the world most loved cuisine...and I love it too!
From Adana Kebaps to Döner, Ezogelin soup to assorted mezze, Kavurma to Helva...the list goes on and on!
I have discovered a little of Turkish cuisine thanks to the Turkish Chefs I have met during my career and also during my visit in Dubai and Morocco couple of years back!
I still have to visit Turkey, which is on my list btw!
Today I have the pleasure sharing a classic dish that I usually make at home and we all love it!
ps. I know it is not 100% as done by the Turkish people, but I still manage with the products I have in my country!
Hope you like it!
Izmir Kofte!!!
You simply need couple of ingredients to make this dish!
- Minced Beef - Seasoned with salt, pepper, cumin, garlic, parsley, chopped onion, breadcrumbs and eggs.
- Peeled potatoes - Cut thickly and semi fried.
- Fresh tomatoes - Cut in big rounds
- Green chili whole
- Tomato sauce
- Olive oil
Steps
After seasoning the minced meat, give them the form as you can see in the photo below.
Semi fry them and reserve.
In a baking tray, place the semi fried potatoes at the bottom (you can add peppers too if you wish)
Then top up with the beef kofte, tomatoes, green chili and tomato sauce!
Put some olive oil and add little salt and pepper!
Put in the oven and let cook for about 15 to 20 minutes at 175 degrees celcius!
Bon Apetit friends!
And here we go...after cooking in the oven...here is how the dish will look like!
So yummy!
Enjoy with some nice homemade Turkish bread - I will share how I make them some other time!
