Hello @steemfoods community, I am super excited to be part of this contest for the first time, I want to say a big thank you to the team and organizers @alikoc07 for coming up with such an amazing contest that was so challenging because it was my first time of baking a cake but I loved every bit of it especially with the fact that it came out really nice.
My Cake 🎂 😋
This week’s special contest is dedicated to our lovely Queens widely known as our Mothers. I will be making a chocolate cake for my mum because if it’s not a chocolate cake nobody opens their mouth in my family literally…let’s get into the process
INGREDENTS FOR BAKING A CHOCOLATE CAKE
500g Flour
100g Butter
5 Eggs
2 Table spoons chocolate flavor
1 Table spoon vanilla flavor
1 1/2teaspoon Baking soda
70g Dry mixed fruit
2 cups of warm milk
2 table spoon Baking powder
2 cups cocoa powder
1 table spoon coffee
INGREDIENTS FOR CAKE AND FONDANT ICING
PROCEDURE FOR BAKING DARK CHOCOLATE CAKE
First, Sieve the flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, coffee in a large bowl. Whisk through to mix all dry ingredients together properly using a whisk, stir through flour mixture until combined well.

Melt the butter with low heat,
Add all the liquid ingredients; melted butter, eggs, chocolate extract , and vanilla extract, in another bowl and then mix properly using a whisk until they blend together.

Mix the liquid ingredients to the flour mixture in folds and mix together in one direction until well combined.

Add vegetable oil into the batter to make it moist a bit, add warm milk to the cake batter until it is well combined. add dry fruits and properly mixed cake batter

Next, you grease the cake pan with butter using a brush/ hand and pour in the mixed cake batter into the pan

Put the cake pan into an already pre-heated oven (I used a local oven pot and gas with low fire to bake) and baked for 1hour 45mins.
When the cake is removed from the oven, you allow to cool and transfer cake onto a cake tray
while cooling the cake start making your fondant icing for the cake.
• INGREDIENTS FOR FONDANT ICING
2 table spoon gelatin
500g Icing sugar
2 tablespoon chocolate flavor
yellow color
2 table spoon CMC
2 table spoon glucose
2 table spoons glycerin
Ingredients for fondant icing
PROCEDURE
First, Sieve the icing sugar in a clean pan, add CMC and mix properly together with hands to remove any clumps

Put 2 table spoons of gelatine, add water, and stir to dissolve the gelatine, place on low heat to dissolve the mixture completely.
Dissolved Gelatin
Add the glycerin and glucose into the melted gelatin, and add Chocolate flavour, then stir properly to blend mixtures properly.

Create a hole in the middle of mixed ingredients consisting of icing sugar and CMC and Pour the mixture into the of icing sugar and mix icing sugar and knead until it becomes elastic and very smooth and the fondant is ready

Use a rolling pin to stretch out the fondant to desired shape, the dress the cake First with butter and place the prepared fondant on the cake properly, then decorate cake to your taste.
