Preparation of Salad and Fried Rice.
Hello dear steemians, I am @tambarie with my little nephew Anuaka.
Cooking hasn’t been a hobby for me. I disliked cooking before I gained admission into College. In college, I ate more junk and in canteens. Then I realized I was spending far too much eating outside. I had no choice but to learn how to cook.
I am a newbie in steemit and I just joined this community.
I will be preparing salad and fried rice. My favorite food.
Ingredients.
Curry,
Thyme
Spicity,
Salt,
Knoll chicken Maggi,
Garlic,
Ginger,
Rice
Onions
Green peas,
Lettuce,
Pepper,
Cucumber,
Carrot,
Chicken,
Egg,
Cabbage,
Carrot
Baked beans,
Groundnut oil,
Mayonnaise.
Preparing the rice.
Wash the rice thoroughly and parboil the rice.
When rice is almost ready,
Wash again and filter the rice.
Preparing the chicken.
The chicken to be used is washed thoroughly
Smashing the garlic.
The garlic is smashed with a perforator, same with the ginger.
It is spiced with Maggi, pepper, salt, ginger, onions, garlic, and thyme.
Then put on fire. To get the best taste of the chicken, it’s always advisable not to add water before putting it on fire. But if need be, add very little quantity of water.
When boiling, you can add little water to prevent it from burning.
Depending on your source of heat, it could take like 40- 60 minutes to be ready.
After boiling, the chicken is filtered before frying in hot groundnut oil.
Preparing the salad.
Wash the cabbage, cucumber, carrot, green peas, garlic thoroughly to prevent dirt and sands.
The cabbage is chopped with a knife to small sizes.
The top skin and the seeds of the cucumber are removed. Washed then chopped
The top skin of the carrot is scrapped, then chopped into little sizes.
You have to boil your eggs, after boiling, the egg is sliced.
The chopped carrot is parboiled before adding to the cabbage.
The baked beans are added to the chopped cabbage.
After adding all the vegetables, stir and mixed properly with mayonnaise. Add the sliced eggs on top of the salad.
Preparing the fried rice.
Put your pan on fire, add groundnut oil, and allow to heat.
Add little salt, onions, add the chopped carrot, pepper, green peas, lettuce, and the seasonings.
Allow to heat a little, then add the parboiled rice, add little water from the chicken.
Taste the rice for salt, etc. Stir and remove from the source of heat.
Dish rice, spice it up with the salad and your fried chicken.
I believe I have been able to share with my colleagues especially the male gender how to prepare a bowl of simple fried rice and salad. I encourage my brothers to see cooking as fun and not work. Happy cooking.
The fried rice is best served with jollof.
To my fellow brothers, please once in a while try out this dish. You don't have to buy this in fancy restaurants everytime. Create time to prepare this dish. I had fun learning and preparing this dish with my little nephew.
