Who Is Your Favorite Chef in Your Family?

You've never seen me like this. - Perfect Bread Making. 👨‍🍳🥖

This competition will be dangerous for me. Because after my wife reads this post I wrote, she will ask me who is the main cook of this house. Let me explain the answer to this question as follows. There are 2 chefs in our house who make excellent delicious food. One is mine and the other is my wife.

My area of expertise is meat, fish and pastry. My wife's specialty is home cooking, desserts and pastries. We're both not famous but good cooks. 😊

The story of deciding to make bread.🥖

I choose myself as the favorite chef in our family. Because we couldn't go out during the pandemic period, I decided to make bread at home. In addition, many housewives made different kinds of bread at home and shared it with people on social media.

Sad to say. I didn't like most of the breads I saw. They were like pieces of dough that were made quickly and unevenly. 🙁

As someone who has never baked bread before, I started doing research on this subject. At first, I watched the chefs making the dough. Then I watched chefs making bread on youtube. I decided to make it by determining a nice recipe. Now I will tell you about my experience as a chef who is not famous but makes delicious meals. 😊

You've never seen me like this. – Bread Making Stages🥖

I'm talking about the travels I usually take. But you didn't see much of me working in the kitchen. That's why I'm sure you will be very surprised. 😊 Now you can watch me make the bread I made during the pandemic period. Let's talk a little bit about technique and cooking.

  • The bread we take from the oven is crispy and risen. This is because the dough is made of high quality. So for our bread to be good, we will spend a lot of time with the dough.

  • Mix the flour and cold water. It should be cold water because the dough should not get hot while mixing.

  • I learned something I didn't know while making bread dough. When we take the dough in our hands, we hit the table and fold the dough. We do this until the dough is soft. In this way, the gluten in the dough comes out in the form of bubbles.

  • After we bring our dough to a good consistency, we put flour under it and make it round. We put cling film on the dough to rest. It should wait here for 2 hours. The dough rises by itself.

  • Then we open the dough that we have made round in the form of bread. Before rolling out, we move the dough up and down horizontally.

  • Another important issue in bread making is folding the bread. When folding the bread, we need to fold it inwards. We press the bread we folded with our palms. When it rises in this way, the bread does not open.

  • We keep the dough that we have turned into bread for 2 more hours. During this waiting, the dough rises again. These waiting times are necessary because the dough is well rested.

  • We put the rested dough on the baking tray. Then, with a razor blade, we cut the top of our dough so that it is not too deep.

Bread Baking and Tasting Phase 🥖
  • We put a glass bowl under the preheated oven and add water into it. In this way, the bottom of the bread does not burn.

  • The bread left in the oven at 180 degrees for 45 minutes is ready. Oven heating setting may vary according to each oven.

  • The bread I made looks just like the bread I bought from the oven. Of course, looks are important. But in order to be a good chef, the bread we make must be delicious.

  • The bread that comes out of the oven is expected to cool a bit. If you try to cut it hot, it will be dough.

It turned out these two beautiful breads. Honestly, I didn't think I would get such a good result. But when I saw these breads, I said to myself, you are a real chef. 😊 As soon as the breads came out of the oven, my wife and I ate most of them. Because it took me almost 1 day to make this bread.

I would like to tell you about the many different dishes I cook. But I chose this bread as my favourite. Because it was one of the best meals I've ever had. I hope you liked it too.

Bread was crispy and soft. I can say that it is the same or even better than the bread I bought from the oven. 🤗
