Agreed. Also this whole paid accounts thing is indeed really stinky, account creation should be free. There is NO reason we can suck up mass amounts of bandwidth and disk space (and image hosting) for FREE, but an account, isn't. Makes zero logical sense. We need more users, not to put off users by charging a premium for a freemium service. I've thought a bit about doing what the others are doing, and pulling a JSun of my own and going the whaleshares / golos route and just starting an entirely new chain based on steem/hive and the like.... Moving all posts to IPFS (even the text.md posts themselves).. and seeing how it goes, if I ever do put more thought into the project, which as I'm typing this out now has me thinking, I probably wouldn't even use steem tech. I'd likely go with a simpler chain with network load balancing across nodes built in. I do have a lot of words to say on the matter, but ain't noone listening,... They are too busy doing their own money grabs. Where I feel all this should be free.... As the open source world intended. No Fiat gateways, community and communication focused, self-contained ecosystem.
