An Unpopular Web 3 - Status [ A New Revolution]

It's no news that Web 3 is the world's current web which shows that we're advancing. I can recall when we were still using web 1 applications before web 2 came into existence. Web 2 came under the centralized basis as people owned and managed it but still, another web came in recently, a new web called Web 3. This web 3 houses some applications that are advanced and far better than the web 2 apps. One of such is ;

Status is the new development, the new technology so to speak. Many may not know that exist such an application that is decentralized. The popular ones we know at centralized and owned by people in form of apps which are majorly for social functions. Status is a decentralized application which means it doesn't have a central authority that controls or manages it. It provides a mixture of a private messaging opportunity, crypto wallet and a web browser.

Just imagine a social media having all these three functions in one app. From the screenshot below we can be send that this status app is an advanced form of WhatsApp being a web social media which is centralized and restricted to messaging and content sharing on WhatsApp status.

Status differs a lot from this. Status offer users private communications and secure operations it also offers a medium for payments where one can send or receive token payments that is backed by the network [Ethereum] and there is not limit to sending funds, no intermediaries and security is tight.

Let's check this fundamental functions the app has and deliberate on them.

• The private messaging medium: this social app uses peer-to-peer technology which makes it independent from centralized users and it also has an end-to-end encryption like whatsapp for all messages sent through the platform which reduces the possibility of shared information through messaging to be leaked. It makes it possible for only the spender and receiver to have these information themselves without exposure.

• The Crypto Super wallet Feature: This crypto wallet it has is different from all other wallets that support ethereum network. The wallet aims at giving users of the wallet full control of their funds and sending or receiving of ethereum assets is safe. The wallet is programmed to avoid intermediaries in any form and allows user have full control of their funds preventing their data from falling into the wrong hands. This is barely seen in most wallet and they are centralized. The owners can just wake up one day and wrap it up with people's funds inside.

• Web browser: this feature marvels me as it allows us interact with order the centralized application that operates on the ethereum network such as decentraland. We can also interact with games exchanges and network which makes access to its more practical.

Status uses a message delivery mechanism that is based on blockchain technology through its £waku protocol*. This allows of sick to solve problems in messaging; that is direct communication. Compared to the way we do message, status doesn't work on private or monitored third party messaging system.

It is blockchain based and has been revolutionizing our lives on a daily basis with no exception. Its peer-to-peer messaging system is encrypted from end to end and transmitted after sending by the sender to several nodes in the network it operates before reaching the recipients.

Most of us may wonder why Facebook is linked with Steemit in this post. It is linked because a point must be made to clear people's doubt about this platform. At the onset, I made mention of web3 taking over the world. Back In The years, there was a social media function called 2go used by majority in messaging loved ones. This web one was taken over and Web two came into existence.

The new web2 was Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter telegram and the likes. These social media apps has owners and is centralized meaning it has a central authority that governs and controls its usage and it's very popular as billions of people are using it. Then came Web 3, the new revolution that tend to enhance people's life.

Facebook as a content Creating social media app has an advanced content Creating social media platform that pays its users cryptocurrencies for creating quality Contents. That brings about Steemit. So steemit is an advanced version of steemit and deals with Blockchain and crypto. Facebook as web 2 is centralized while steemit as web 3 is decentralized. We don't need a prophet to tell us how long lasting steemit would be.
