Today, we will be talking about ways to avoid trap phishing. If you were in our previous lesson, we discussed intensively about a particular topic that was titled Trap phishing, where we got to talk about what it entails and how it is initiated or carried out by several fraudsters.

HOW TO AVOID TRAP PHISHING

It is in no doubt that trap phishing is all over the web3 ecosystem. It is seen everywhere and on a high scale. We get to see many dimensions and patterns whereby trap phishing is being carried out by unknown individuals claiming to be legit on the cryptocurrency space.

Although, I have never been scammed before via trap phishing but I have noticed various scenarios where people, users come on here to lament about how their password and keys are being compromised.

When this happens, they can no longe access their wallet, hence they watch as the culprits do away with their funds and there is absolutely no way to stop them because the keys and password is been changed.

At this point, the victim already knows that the assets in the wallet is gone once the private key is changed. That is to say, there is no solution to such incident and the best option is to stay safe next time.

Yes, we may not know how stop the culprits from transferring the assets to their account but there are things that we can do to avoid them having our private key. A few of the ways in which we can avoid trap phishing is seen below.

ALWAYS VERIFY THE LINKS

One major way in which we can avoid trap phishing is to always verify the link source. This is a crucial method to avoid being scammed via trap phishing. A lot of users do not pay attention to the link sources, as such, they get scammed eventually if the link is a phishing link.

Users get carried away especially when the there is a write up carrying mouth watering offer just like a huge return on investment. Many people fall for this trap because a lot of users we see on the space are desperate for money, as such, they do things without having a deep consideration regarding their actions.

That is why trap phishing links are seen everywhere and this is because many users not just on the cryptocurrency space but everywhere do not pay attention to detail and do not stick to the program. Everyone is out for an income or two, as such, they disregard the right thing of which they know of.

Always checkmate the source of every link you click online in other to be sure and safe and also free from being scammed via trap phishing.

AVOID USERS WHO SPAM WITH VARIOUS LINKS

There are users whose identity are unknown. What they do is to either write to you directly or come down to the comment section of your article with various links, advertising a project to you and asking you to click on a link that will direct you to the project.

Do not pay attention to them, for all they seek is to lure you into clicking those links, and when you do that, you will be directed to a different platform entirely which will require you to give the platform access to your keys and if you continue on that journey, your private key may be compromised.

We have to be careful of individuals you do not know, coming to your comment section and asking you to click on unknown links because they might be scammers or hackers trying to get access to your private key and when they eventually gain access, they head straight to changing your password since they already gained access to the private key.

For this may lead to the loss of your account and most especially your funds in your wallet. We should stay vigilant and wr should not allow negligence to get the best part of us. This are the few that I have to dish out for now.
