Hello friend, welcome to my blog as I give my point of view on this interesting topic.
Open marriage can be seen as a relationship established on several views; some say it allows for greater personal freedom and honesty and also helps fight the temptation to cheat by setting boundaries and expectations.
However, everyone has their point of view on a relationship, as relationships go much beyond just love. It's okay if most people do not see others' points of view.
All you have to know is any relationship type you choose you should think about what you would want from it and aim for those goals.
However, I don't accept open marriage. I do not support the romantic sharing of a partner; I can't imagine entering an agreement as a serious matter as marriage to have another person involved. Other people might be okay with that but for me, I disagree due to reasons that don't suit me which include
There is an increased risk of sexually transmitted infections. As a result of the involvement of another sexual partner.
It is time-consuming, balancing multiple relationships can sometimes be exhausting, and it comes with so many responsibilities that need attention.
There is not much time for discussion as the need to be with other partners arises and this results in communication breakdown which leads to disagreements, fights and there is feelings of competition and jealousy
Open marriage can shatter a person's confidence and self-esteem as it gives room for comparing yourself to your partner's other partner. It's simple to nurse a fear that the other partner is better, leading your self-esteem to drop out.
Honesty is at stake in must open marriage. Secrecy and lies of omission creep in, and whenever honesty disappears in a relationship, trust issues start.
However, like I said earlier, relationships go much beyond just love, and everyone gets involved in a relationship with their reasons. Open marriage, just like every other type of marriage, has boundaries and guidelines which the partners or parties involved actively agree upon before it can work out.
