"What's your opinion on DINK families?"

Special greetings beautiful Steemians, it is an honour to take part in this contest. Thank you @boylikegirl for helping me learn while I write. I know there were instances around me were couples lived such lives but then I could not have guessed that such family is called a DINK family.

DINK family is when well-to-do married couples have made up their minds not to have kids. Sometimes this decision can be made with a time limit in mind or also made to last for the rest of their lives.

This set of couples usually make these decisions because of goals such as focusing on their career, self-actualization, having financial independence, flexibility, hobbies. Career etc.

Also, this group of people are from the school of thoughts which believes that parenting is straining and not worth it.

I personally think that grooming a DINK family is not so fulfilling after all, especially when one becomes so advanced in age. As children advance in age, they can offer emotional support in later years, as they are saddled with the responsibility of providing an additional level of care and companionship that may not be available from friends.

Raising children has its ups and downs, but surely it is a very rewarding venture which has lots of satisfaction. I admire traditional homes with two doting couples and kids running around every space within the homes laced with giggles, laughter, shouts, cries etc.

Even studies have shown that children are usually bundles of joy givers, and they create room for emotional and personal growth (it would be so beautiful to have a mini me with some of my attitudes), so instead of trading that moment, I would rather run my life having children and fulfilling personal visions and goals as well.

The DINK family is also not the best because those sets of individuals were products of traditional homes (I mean if one's parents were all DINKs, one would not have had a chance to live life, talk more of making selfish decisions) because, by choosing not to have children, these couples may forgo the opportunity to raise future generations leaders that could have been a solution giver to problems, advancing science, or improving the world in ways that might change their own lives for the better.
