"My Country's Special Day of Remembrance"

Great minds, welcome to my blog where I will be sharing with us a special day celebrated in my country Nigeria.

Every may 27 Mark's a significant day in my countries calendar as it's a day set aside to celebrate it's youths. It's known as National Youth Day,this day serves as a reminder of the important role the young people of my country play in shaping the country's future.

How it came about

In 2019,the then president in the person of President Muhammadu Buhari signed the Not Too Young to Run. bill into law, which created an opportunity for the youth to participate in politics. With this singular act,it sparked a renewed focus on empowering the Nigerian young population.

The reason behind this celebration is because,the youths are my countries greatest asset with over 60% of the population under 30, their energy, creativity and innovation are the essential tools that can drive national growth.

On this special day, there are series of activities which ranges from rallies and procession, Youth conference and workshop. There's also cultural performance and exhibition and lastly, there's awards ceremony to honor outstanding young achievers.

In conclusion,I see National youth day as being more than celebration, rather, it's a commitment to Nigerias future because by empowering young people,we are consciously ensuring a brighter tommorow 💯.
