It’s Friday, thank goodness and I am ever so glad!
It was a super busy day at work today. Lots of patients needing help and lots to do. I was doing fairly well keeping up with the jobs until the last hour. 😏 That’s when it pushed me under lol. 😂
During the last 30 minutes, I had been working with the last patient who was there for a visual field test, as she wanted to order glasses. The doc came out with a patient, so I told her that I’d catch back up with her when the doc was done with her and started helping the patient he had just brought out. It’s 20 to four at this point and 2 people come in with broken glasses to have their lenses put into the frames we’d ordered for them. There was no way I could deal with my 2 patients that were in house AND fix the glasses, so they agreed to come back Monday. My new gal was there, but she’s had only 2 days with us and there’s so much to train her on. She wouldn’t have been able to do the repairs. As they were leaving, another mom brought her son’s broken glasses in for the same repair! 🤪 I know her well and she was more than happy to leave them for my returning from vacation coworker to repair them on Monday. 😅
On Friday afternoons, I’m under a time constraint of getting to the post office before they close as I have packages to ship. Therefore, staying late is not an option on Fridays. I made it to the post office 20 minutes before they close, but I don’t like to cut it that short! As I said, boy am I glad it’s Friday! I’m back to normal schedule now and will have four glorious days off! 😎
It’s pouring here again and has rained pretty hard for the entire day and it’s not done yet. Here’s the river level at 6 AM this morning.
By this afternoon, it had risen a foot.
When it rains this much, people start to get uneasy around here. It was three years ago this month, when we had the worst flood in 100 years. It was catastrophic and left a lot of people shell shocked. You can still see signs of that previous flood all around to this day.
