Wedding traditions and customs differ from one country to another. There are countries that have their own traditions and consider the dowry essential for the marriage to take place between the bride and groom. There are other countries that do not rely on the dowry and do not consider it necessary for the wedding and that affection and love are the basis of marriage. They also differ in who offers. The dowry: There are some countries that have their own rituals and see that the dowry is given to the groom instead of the bride. There are countries that see that the dowry is the bride’s right, and it is a sign of gratitude, appreciation and love that the wedding is for her.

After the bride and groom agree to the marriage, the step of contracting the Qur’an comes, and the groom is then required to present precious gifts to the bride as an expression of his love for her. The costs of the dowry and the wedding are agreed upon between the two parties. One of the rituals inherited among us is the process of handing over the dowry, and the groom sends dinner to the bride’s family before the night of handing over the dowry, or sends some gifts to the bride. The gifts are clothes, a few jewelry, and a dress for the wedding night. And other things according to financial capacity for the groom.
