FLAX AND KALE BARCELONA -The Food Diary Game Season :2 -12/10/2021 - #sfcharity50pc + new restaurant pic

Hi everyone,

Thanks for organising this diary game, I am really looking forward to sharing what I eat. At the moment I am really mindful about what I eat. I make a conscious effort to ear well, I mainly eat plant based and organic.

I just moved to Barcelona and don't know my way around here so much yet, but one restaurant I really wanted to try is Flax and Kale. I knew about it because a YouTube Channel I follow mentioned it once, and it looked so good.

Flax and Kale has three branches in Barcelona and I went to the one that is close to Place Catalunya.

The signature starter there is Kale chips. They have the traditional ones and Thai spiced ones, I had the traditional ones. I LOOOOOVE kale chips!!! I could eat them every day if I could afford it. They cost €3.95 per portion and I think It's really worth it!

The menu is in Spanish, Catalan and English and it looks really amazing. there is a really nice cover.

For drinks I had a sparkling water,

and a white wine, which was a blend of Chardonnay and Gewurtztraminer.

The wine was €3.50 and the water was €2.50

As a main course, I had the Vegan Kale Cesar Salad, which I loved!! The Vegan chicken escalope on top was not quite crispy, but the taste was good. However the dressing was phenomenal. I think it is really hard to find good vegan Cesar dressing and this one was great!

The salad was €11.95

They asked me if I want a dessert, and I was still hungry, lol so I ordered another starter. I got the grilled watermelon with Goats cheese, I don't normally eat goats cheese, but they weren't able to give me a vegan option. I really wanted to try the Grilled Watermelon so I went for it.

I really love Watermelon, so It was great, But I think I would have enjoyed it more without the goats cheese.

This plate was €4.95.
