I came across a clever way to get author reward not for 7 days but forever.
It only uses the built-in features of Steem blockchain and minor tricks.
EverSteem will be a concise post app that supports only
- posting
- voting
- reading
It will be as simple as possible.

If it gets enough adoption from curators, I think this would be a fantastic incentive for authors to spend more time and effort to produce interesting posts that would keep delivering rewards over the long term.
If I remember right, the reason that I rarely used the previous implementation was that you could only upvote posts that had been submitted through their interface. To get traction, I think it would be ideal to enable late upvotes for all posts, no matter where they were originally created.

thank you for your opinion. At least a upvote should happen in my app to get reward if a post is older than 7 days.
I will consider your suggestion that allows upvotes on posts originally written in other apps.
