Steempay will revive

Hi, I am happy to share my new plan for a new service which is a steem payment service.

Recently, I suggested steem development as a team:

why don't we develop community apps together as a team?

There were a couple of comments, which did not surprised me because I know it is very hard to get attentions from steem users.

Anyway I will act and develop the core part of any service, which is a payment.

In the previous post, I suggested to develop an ebay like service on steem. Here the payment is the key part.

There were a couple of payment services before, one of which is the steempayco by @asbear who has not been active for several years.

When I briefly checked the source code and the UIs, there seems no an escrow feature, meaning that the steempayco cannot be used online safely. But it is a good service for an offline transaction.

Except the ayogom's legacy service, no payment service is working now.

I will develop a steem payment core module so that other services can use this to handle payments.

Here is my plan:

develop a steempayco like web app with simple modern UIs
add the steem escrow feature optionally
a buyer for a product/service chooses an escrow agent among top 100 witnesses who can get a fee by handling a transaction (this would make a witness run a witness node to get the fee)
add the most requested features by the communities

I think a STEEM payment service is a good attempt to increase the demand and use of STEEM (or SDB). 👍

Additionally, if the planned payment functionality could be added to the current mobile version of the Steemit dapp, it would make STEEM's payment functionality more accessible to Steemians (when the time comes after developing Steempay).

Thank you for your opinions. It would be great to link the payment service with the steemit. Then the steemit could be a market to sell and buy products.

It would be better that users can use the SteemKeychain.

of course, the steem keychain will be supported. but as you know it is avaliable only on desktop browsers (except the kiwi browser).

So there should be a convenient way to handle the private keys.

I'm glad to see the level of effort you put in. Though I really don't know much, but I believe it's going to be a beautiful and easy alternative to the steemwallets, that is if only security is guaranteed.
