5 years ago a developer created a private messenger for steemians, that was a good idea, but one user can chat with one person only. i don't know why he stops his development for steem. yesterday @blockseater talk to him on doscord but he is totally unhappy with steemit so she did not ask for any help or code file...

We have hundreds of community on steemit and every admin have its own discord, each CR have its own separate chat group on discord.
what if steemit give us a chat room with different #categories, then every steemians could get more help and updates to any active member that
I was reading about an Opensource chatting platform https://www.rocket.chat/ we can collaborate with them.
Steem users could log in with the Posting key and could chat,
This is enough for steemchat room

That's what I have always wondered too. Why can't we have a chat facility on Seemit which will help everyone stay in touch. After all we can do it on various other platforms so there is nothing wrong if we do it here itself.

Play around with the memo key to encrypt decrypt the chat. And you are good to go with a decentralized chat system.
