Believe it or not, I used to (really) hate English. I've never gotten good grades in English when I was in school. I didn't even know how to distinguish past tense and future tense. I used to wonder, why should there is English subject in the school?
And when I graduate, I don't really remember how I can be in an Indonesian Learner Group on Telegram. I met someone from San Diego who learn Indonesian.
I asked him, "Why do you learn Indonesian?"
He said, "because the greatest investment is in my own self, nothing to lose to learn"
From that chat, day by day we start to spend the time by learning the language. He learned Indonesian and I learned English. I could say, he was my grammar nazi.
Since I met him, I open my eyes that English is the world language.
I know my English right now is not perfect yet. I still use Reverso to check my grammar. And sometimes I still use google translate. But, I'm glad, at least I'm better than what I used to be.
Hey guys, do you have a story about your gladness of yourself? Let me know :)
