THE LAST EXCURSION IN MY SCHOOL

INTRODUCTION

Hello, steemians. It's good to be here again in this community. Thank you for your support. Let me inform you of how the last excursion with my high school students went. Of course we know the significance of school excursion cannot be overemphasized. It avails students opportunity to learn outside the classroom, practically. Seeing what a student learns in the classroom, physically, gives him joy and more understanding. The last excursion was fun and interesting. The sights and sounds added colour to the trip. Enjoy!

FIRST, WE VISITED THE FARM

Although, our car got punctured not a far distance from the school, that almost frustrated the excitement in the faces of students, we finally arrived IBOM INTEGRATED FARMS by noon.

Wow! It was a big farm business that gives students the impression of going into agricultural business after school. The manager of the farms, took students through orientation and explanations on the workings of the farm business. The birds, the pigs, the fishes, the corns, tomatoes, pepper, cucumber, turkeys, are all raised in different isolated farms.

Farming, according to the farm manager, helps provide food that could feed the world. One could actually make so much money from farming.🌴🌳🍑🍊🍓

NEXT WAS IBOM POWER PLANT

From the farm, we left with excitement to find out how electricity is generated. The students were already tired and exhausted, so we had to stop somewhere for them to take snacks after spending about two hours in the farm. The warm welcome that we had at Ibom Power Company was inexplicable. The managing engineers were all friendly.

After briefing on the sensitivity and the dynamics of power generation and transmission, the students were taken on a tour around the company mainly to see how the three turbines work to generate power. It was very educative.

Although, we arrived home late due to traffic jamb, the excitement, the fun, the lesson learned was incomparable to challenges we might enumurate. Excursion is really a nice venture in the school system. My students learned a whole lots. We felt fulfilled. Hope , you have also learned from this article.
