Bireuen Government Holds Taptu Ceremony and Torch Parade to Welcome the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Bireuen Regency Government, Aceh Province held a Time Determination Ceremony (Taptu) and Torch Parade, Thursday, August 16, 2024, evening. The annual military tradition activity to commemorate the Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia (HUT RI) took place in the courtyard of the Bireuen Regent's Hall.

The Taptu Ceremony is a military tradition that has been carried out since ancient times when Independence Day was approaching. The Head of the Bireuen District Attorney's Office (Kejari), H Munawal Hadi SH MH acted as the ceremony inspector. Meanwhile, the Ceremony Commander was Ipda Januar Mutawalli, SH, (Peusangan Police Chief) and the Ceremony Officer, Lieutenant Inf Jamaluddin (Kodim 0111/ Bireuen).

This activity is to remind troops to increase their vigilance in the midst of their duties and the call of the state. Then the torch parade is also an inseparable activity in the series of Independence Day commemorations as an effort to remember the struggle of national heroes in winning independence.

The activity began with a joint assembly and the Bireuen District Attorney directly lit the Taptu torch which was brought for each participant in the ceremony, then the torch was lit together by participants consisting of the Indonesian National Army (TNI), the Republic of Indonesia Police (Polri), State Civil Apparatus (ASN) and students.

The District Attorney said that the activity aims to revive the spirit of struggle for all levels of society so that they always remember the struggle of the heroes and it is hoped that the community will continue to fight for the progress of the nation.

The route taken by the torch parade participants, starting at the Pendopo Bireuen yard then participants cross a number of roads around the city of Bireuen and return to the Pendopo Bireuen yard with a distance of approximately 2 kilometers.
