Enlivening the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, the Bireuen Government Holds a Tennis Tournament.

A total of 98 couples took part in the Bireuen Regent's Cup tennis tournament to enliven the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia at the Indonesian Tennis Association (Pelti) Field in Bireuen City, starting on Saturday, August 3, 2024.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Tennis Association (Pelti) of Bireuen Regency, Muntasar, said that the men's double and women's double category tournaments would take place from August 3-4, 2024 at the Pelti Bireuen field.

This event was attended by 98 couples divided into several categories, namely the main class category A and the intermediate and deginer category B. According to him, the interesting thing is that in this tournament there were also participants from mothers.

"This is a special attraction because previously mothers were present to accompany their husbands to practice and then also became interested in playing tennis," he said.

In addition, Pelti management is also trying to get support from the Bireuen Regency Government to improve facilities and infrastructure such as fields that can at least be indoor.

"Our target in 2025 is to hold a special junior level tennis tournament as an effort to develop and produce tennis seeds in the future," he said.

Acting Regent of Bireuen, Aulia Sofyan when opening the tournament, among other things, said that in order to support the smooth running of training and coaching of tennis athletes, the Bireuen Regency Government will try to improve the quality of the tennis court.

To the participants, good luck competing, maintain sportsmanship and we are very happy that this time the mothers who initially accompanied their husbands to practice, today also participated in competing.

"We are also grateful to Allah SWT so that the tournament welcoming the 79th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia can be carried out well," said Aulia Sofyan.
