Three Pairs of Bireuen Regent/Vice Regent Candidates Test Their Ability to Read the Al Quran.

Three pairs of Bireuen Regent/Vice Regent candidates tested their ability to read the Al Quran, the activity took place at the Sulthan Jeumpa Bireuen Grand Mosque, Wednesday, 4/9/2024.

The three pairs of candidates who took part in the Al Quran reading test were the candidate pairs Murdani Yusuf SE - Tgk Abdul Muhaimin, H Mukhlis ST- Ir H Razuardi MT, and the pair Husaini M Amin alias Tgk Batee and H Husaini Ilyas alias Franco.

The stages of the Al Quran reading test were attended by three pairs of Bireuen regent and vice regent candidates, starting at 09.00 WIB and ending at around 10.30 WIB. However, chaos occurred towards the end of the entire series of activities.

The trigger was a protest from residents who were present who questioned the lack of use of loudspeakers or microphones when the candidates read the Al Quran. The atmosphere in the mosque, which was initially calm and peaceful, gave rise to a bit of commotion.

Questions about why they did not use loudspeakers grew louder from visitors who were present to watch the Al Quran reading test.

Finally, the Al Quran reading test was repeated at 11.35 WIB using loudspeakers, starting with H Mukhlis ST as the previous lottery number. The Quran reading test process carried out by the Bireuen Regency Independent Election Commission (KIP) at the Sultan Jeumpa Grand Mosque, Bireuen, went smoothly.

The Head of the Bireuen KIP Technical Implementation Division, Safrizal, said that the examiners were the Head of the Bireuen Ulema Consultative Assembly (MPU), Tgk Nazaruddin Bin Ismail, from the Al Quran Recitation Development Institute (LPTQ), Tgk Ridwan Muhammad, and from the Bireuen Ministry of Religion Office (Kankemenag) Drs Syukri Muhammad Amin.

"The Al Quran reading test for prospective pairs of Regent and Deputy Regent candidates went smoothly," said Safrizal.

Safrizal confirmed that there were protests so that the Al Quran reading test could be more open if using a loudspeaker, he accepted and a retest had been carried out accordingly.

"The results of the Al Quran reading test are waiting for the examination team and later we will submit them to the respective Liaison Officers (LO), after this the next stage is to verify the administration of the candidates," said Safrizal.
