This beautiful scenario is from Assasuni, Satkhira, Khulna, Bangladesh. Few moments before sunset the nature of this area decorated with beautifully. At that moment everybody moving towards their destination. Birds are flying towards their nests. The boatman of this picture is also moving forward to his destination.
Bangladesh is a riverine country in nature. There are number of small and medium rivers in various regions. The people of this area make their livings and livelihood around this rivers. Someone catches fishes in this river and selling them to local market, someone drives people across the river by boat, someone carry goods by their boat. The most of the people of this area live around the river.
Generally evening falls very quickly in this river area. Everybody return home after their whole day work. Someone return from local market with the grocery shopping for his family, someone return from his farmland after finishing today's work, someone return from other region etc. This is how the people here pass the day, month and years.
The women of this area are also very hard-working. They contribute their family most by daily cooking foods and arranging them for the family members, rearing their children, planting trees and vegetables, collecting firewoods for cooking foods, working household chorus whole day for the family. They can't afford good foods, good dresses, even good education to their children. As a result most of the children of this family are uneducated. So they follow the footsteps of their ancestors. Thus their fate never changes.
Government as well as several development agencies work in this area to change their life so that they can lead a better life. Government assistance is always insufficient for this region. Some non-government organisation work for pure water, some work for nutritious foods for the children, some work for education, some work for hygiene and sanitation and also some work for rehabilitation. Thus, with the help of the government and outside countries, this population is surviving in the hope of a better life.
It’s a true story of a riverine region of Bangladesh.
