It is another beautiful morning, I hope everyone is fine? I am very happy to drop my post in this wonderful community. I thanks the organiser @josepha for organised this amazing contest, this contest will give us more insight about the impact of technology on education.

How did your smartphone or computer help you in your academic endeavors?

My smartphone help me a lot to achieve what I achieved in school since I graduated from University, technology will take over the world we have seen so many school adopt this system to carry out their school activities. My smartphone is my instrument that help me during my undergraduate level, I make used of my smartphone whenever our lecturers gave us an assignment to do I would just quickly google searched what I need and picked the suitable answer for the question.

In my school, it is compulsory for computer science students to have laptop or smartphone without that it my affect their academic journey. I enjoyed my smartphone in campus especially when their is available Wifi that flow around the school premises. I used my smartphone and laptop to do must of my research project, when you gain admission into the University you need smartphone and computer which is necessary to carry out school activities.

Were these devices a distraction to you, or were they of great help to you?

They were not a distraction at all, during my undergraduate level most of the lecturers used to sent PDF to us on the department group we created on WhatsApp. Reading PDF on our phone make it easy for us because our phone is very portable to carry from one place to another.

Some students use their phone to listen to music, watch movies, playing video games which is not suppose to be rather they should use it to do their assignment and other school activities that's meaningful.

What do you personally believe will be the role of technology in education in the future?

National open University of Nigeria (Noun), is a University that offered distance learning any where in Nigeria they make use of online learning with the aid of good smartphone and computer and available network service. You can see that they already adopt technology to run their services provided to the students, most Nigeria University have made a progress in one way or the others.

In addition, if you want to gain admission into Nigeria University you must write joint admission and matriculation board (JAMB), this require with the use of computer base test to do the exam without the knowledge of computer you will not be able to do the exam.

Technology is take over the world because is the future, most of the secondary school are now include computer studies into their curriculum. Everything we want to do now is involve technology most of the secondary school are now check their result online. Once the school have your data on their system it remain their for life.

Do you think every student should have a computer or smartphone?

Yes is compulsory for every students to have smartphone or computer because it will assist them to perform effectively in school. During Covid 19 crisis where the government order sit home for all citizen including students, you could see that most of the students received online lecture organised by their lecturers they even conducted online test for their students. Without this, students may not easily carryout school activities they perform that's why smartphone and computer is compulsory.

Conclusion

Every students must understand the important of technology when they are in school because it will help them a lot to succeed in school. Knowing this is compulsory because everything we do now is digital. I invite @abu70, @tiyum08 and @mf-do to join in this contest.
