In steemit we are advised to promote the platform, as many other sttermains are doing. We have dedicated promoters who take it up as their job to promote the platform to a range of people.While others take it upon themselves to bring investors onto the platform others bring random people.When I say investors it doesn't mean people who just buy steem and power up or people who use the steem they earn and power up but it also includes people who put their time and effort into making quality post and also commenting of others post.

Whilst others invest their steem power, others invest their time and this us great cause not everyone can be the same.But today I am not here to talk about investing your time and effort but to talk about powering up and it's benefits. Well most of the time people are forced to power up rather than just powering up out of their own will. And one thing we should know is that when we make these power ups we can still get our steem back, the steem we used in powering up is not lost but can be regarded as staked coins, this means when you stake your coins you earn some rewards from it.

In the crypto academy, people are normally "forced" to power up because when you don't have the required steem power you cannot do a certain task.For instance, if you do not have steem power of up to 200 you cannot participate in the beginner level of crypto academy assignments. So when this happens people who have the required rep. but do not have the required steem power are forced into powering up to reach that level of steem power to do the assignments. But the power up has a lot of benefits.Apart from the steem still being your, you can also earn higher curation rewards from them.
