Introducing Steem of Cebu

Cebu was once the most active regional community in Steem. It was way back late 2017 to early 2018 when the community has been bustling with new invites from all walks of life. It could have stayed that way, but there were personal interests that prevailed and those were the main reasons why the community disbanded. Most of the members have moved on because of the disappointment that stemmed from the community leaders' mishandling of the community.

We planned to bring the enthusiasm and vibrance of the community by removing the individual self-interest that caused the demise of a potential Steem hotspot. Shoud Steem accept us as a promoter of this growing community in this region, we have a collection of activities that we will launch in the coming weeks that will help attract talented individuals in the city.

One of the past evidence that we were able to pull this off was the Steem Summit (@steemsummit). It was organised by the community to have an avenue to showcase different talents from Cebu steemians in all demographics.

Aside from SteemFest, there's no gathering that was pulled-off to cater such crowd in a fun, talent-centered, and professional setting. The pandemic might have limited such kinds of gatherings, it doesn't mean we can't pull off online events that would ramp up the activity of Steem in the region.

Cebu is still untapped with its talents. There's so much potential for value creation.

No more self-interests this time. Just pure community building.
