Banana is an important fruit in Bangladesh that is available throughout the year. Kala was called Kadali in ancient literature. Bananas, banana leaves, banana roots, and bananas are all beneficial. Banana trees and banana leaves are not only animal feed. They have amazing medicinal properties. Unique in curing diseases. Bananas are rich in nutrients. Bananas are a delicacy.So, anytime you are fatigued or in a state of energy loss, eating bananas will make the body work again, which is the highest among conventional fruits. It is recommended to include at least 60 grams of fruits in the daily diet for good health. In this case, the meal can contain any banana of your choice. Barikla-1 and Barikla-2 (Anajikla), Amritsar, Sabri, Champa, Kabri, Mehersagar, and Beechikla are among the varieties that are cultivated on a commercial basis.
Soil
Upland land with sufficient sun and good drainage is suitable for banana cultivation. Fertile loam soil is best for banana cultivation. The land should be levelled and weed-free by ploughing and harrowing.
Banana seedlings can be planted three times a year. 1st planting season: Ashwin-Karthik is the best time. 2nd Planting Period: Magh-Phalgun is a good time. 3rd Planting Season: Chaitra-Baishakh is a fairly good time.
Planting distance
Row-to-row distance is 2 meters, and plant-to-plant distance is 2 meters.
Hole making
Holes should be dug a month before planting. The size of the hole will be 60 cm. Wide and 60 cm. deep. Once the hole is made, dung and TSP fertilizer should be mixed with the soil, and the hole should be filled.
Aussie tour is good for planting. Aussie leaves are narrow, pointed and sword-like. The stems are large and strong and gradually taper from the base upwards. Three months old healthy healthy tour should be collected from disease-free trees.
Half of the dung should be applied during land preparation, and the remaining half should be in the pit. Half TSP should be applied to the hole simultaneously. One and a half to two months after planting, 1/4th of urea, half of MP and the rest of TSP should be sprinkled on the ground, chopped well and mixed with the soil. After two to two and a half months, the remaining half of MP and half of urea should be applied per plant. At the time of the emergence of mocha, 1 part of the remaining four parts of urea should be sprinkled on the ground and mixed with the soil.

Irrigation should be done only if there is not enough sap in the soil at the time of planting. In addition, irrigation is required after 15-20 days during dry season. It is important to have drains so that water does not accumulate in banana plantations during monsoons. It is best to allow only one seedling per plant to grow after the mocha emerges.
The main diseases of the banana plant are Panama, Banchitop virus, Sigatoka and banana spot disease. To cure Panama disease, affected trees should be uprooted and burnt. Seedlings should not be used as rootstocks for infected plants. To cure Banchitop virus disease, affected trees should be uprooted and burnt. Jab beetles and thrips that carry the disease should be controlled with insecticides before planting. Healthy plants should also be sprayed with pesticides.
Leaves of trees infected with Sigatoka disease should be burnt. Mix 0.5 ml tilt 250 EC 1 gram Bavistin in every litre of water and sprinkle on the plants every 15 days. If you see spots like spring disease spots on the banana due to beetle attack, wrap the banana with a perforated polythene bag at the time of emergence. This pest can also be controlled by spraying approved insecticides. To cure any kind of disease, bananas cannot be cultivated repeatedly in diseased fields.
All varieties of bananas are generally ripe within 11-15 months of planting. 12-15 tons of banana yield per hectare.
The price of a banana is about 20 taka. The market price of one kadi is about 1000 taka.
Although raw plantain is a delicious and tasty curry, eating it in curry can lead to constipation and flatulence. Regular consumption of mocha and thor curry can cause kidney stones because they contain oxalic acid. Ripe bananas should be eaten between 9 am and 12 pm. When eating ripe bananas can be harmful. Bananas should be chewed well, not swallowed. Ripe vegetables are digested in saliva.
