Hello Friends, How are You?

Alhamdulillah I am fine today I have appeared before you with the details of the Kushiara River the Barak or Barbakra River. The Barak River originates from the Angaminaga Hills, Manipur. The Barak River originates from the hill and enters Sylhet through Badpur, Cachar district, and Manipur. From the Amalsid place bordering Sylhet, two branches flow under two different names. One of which is the historical river Surma of Bangladesh.

The other is Kushiara. The length of the Kushiara River is 120 miles. It flows westward from its source towards Dahmin through the Sylhet Cachar border and falls into the headwaters of the Meghna River.

The Barak River originates from the 300 km high Angaminaga Hills in the erstwhile independent state of Manipur. After crossing 491 km from the source to reach the Sylhet border, the Barak River flows in two branches named Surma and Kushiara for 300 km to form the Meghna River.

The mentioned two rivers are located in the Sylhet division. The stream flowing north from the Sylhet border is known as the Surma River, and the stream flowing to Dahmin is known as Kushiara. From Barak to a place called Amalsid via Badarpur from Kushiara's bifurcation point.

From Amalsid near Bahadurpur, the Kushiara River enters Nabiganj through Dirai and flows into Ajmiriganj to form the Meghna River near Dilalpur. Kushiara river flows through different upazilas of Jokiganj, Biyanibazar, Golapganj, Fenchuganj, Balaganj, Rajnagar, Moulvibazar, Nabiganj, and Jagannathpur.

The Fenchuganj fertilizer factory is located on the bank of this river. The Kushiara River flows in different branches in different parts of Sylhet, which are known as Bibiana, Dhaleswari Khoai, and Kalani.

Kushiara River was full of its opulence one day. Many species of fish including small and large dolphins, sushuk, and hilsa, used to play there. The sailing boat was moving in the turbulent current. Launches, steamers, and ships operated throughout the year.

There was a crowd of boats at the wharf. There was the clamor of porters. Balaganj Bazar, Sherpur Ghat, and Fenchuganj Bazar centered on the Kushiara River, were always active seaports.

Cultivation was done on the irrigation water of the Kushiara River in vast towns. These Kushiyas were the livelihood of many families. But now the river cannot be looked at. Day by day, his course is getting narrower. Instead of water, only the sound of crying came out of Kushiara's chest.

SEE YOU AGAIN. ALLAH HAFEZ.
