I was happy to see the enthusiastic turnout in today's field ministry. We're midway through our circuit week, and Day 2 of proclaiming God's wondrous works and sharing the good news with our neighbors has been a resounding success. I'm grateful to report that, just like Day 1, I was able to find people of goodwill, dubbed 'friends of peace,' and share the Good News with them. It's always a joy to see the message of hope and happiness bring light to those who need it.
I'm delighted to share the highlights of my day in the field service, where we continued to spread hope and joy to those in our territory.
This morning, I rose earlier than yesterday, eager to start the day with purpose. Following my daily push-ups routine, I joined my family for a 6:30 am scripture examination, which we concluded with a heartfelt prayer. After breakfast and getting refreshed, I headed to the Kingdom Hall ahead of schedule, determined not to miss our circuit overseer's valuable instructions and guidance on making the most of today's field service.
Our circuit overseer's focus today was on effective teaching and preaching methods that facilitate easy understanding. He exhorted us to emulate Jesus Christ, our ultimate example, in our ministry. Following his encouraging remarks and a closing prayer, we collected magazines for the day's outreach and set out from the Kingdom Hall as a unified group, ready to apply the overseer's counsel in our interactions with others.
Today's assigned territory was quite a distance from the Kingdom Hall. During our journey, I cherished the opportunity to take a selfie with my brother and engage in a heartfelt conversation. The impressive turnout of fellow Witnesses lifted my spirits. After a 20-minute walk, we arrived at our designated territory and parted ways to focus on our respective assignments, eager to share the good news with the local community.
I was delighted to be paired with a sister companion again today, just like yesterday. In our assigned territory, there's an elderly man who consistently shows enthusiasm for God's message. Unfortunately, when we visited his home, which was our first stop, he wasn't there to receive us. We left a magazine at his doorstep, hoping he'll find it and be uplifted by its contents. The initial visit to the first house, where we didn't find anyone home, sparked concern in my companion about how the rest of our outreach efforts might unfold.
We proceeded to the next house, where a young man (Emmanuel) around my age was standing alone outside. His reserved demeanor initially gave me doubts about his willingness to listen. However, to my surprise, he warmly welcomed us, invited us in, and offered us seats. I began our conversation by sharing biblical advice on how to please God as a young person. I referenced Ecclesiastes 12:1, among other scriptures.
My companion then took over, sharing the good news and emphasizing the benefits of cultivating a close relationship with God, especially during the formative teenage years. The young man was receptive to our message and expressed enthusiasm for further spiritual guidance. He kindly requested that we return for a Bible study session, which we gladly agreed to.
Our next visit was a sad one. We met a single mother who shared with us her distressing situation, her children had gone without food all morning. Having lost her husband just a few months prior, her struggles seemed overwhelming. We offered her comfort and shared the reassuring message of God's promise to eliminate death and hunger in the future.
We raed Revelation 21:4, which states that "there will be no more death," and *Psalm 72:16, which promises an abundance of food. Though her pain was palpable, her eyes lit up with hope as she grasped the certainty of a better future. She warmly invited us to return and share more Bible scriptures with her, expressing her gratitude for our visit.
Moving on from the single mother's home, we came across a small provision shop where a young entrepreneur named Daniel was busy attending to customers. Not wanting to overlook anyone, we decided to share the good news with him as well. Initially, Daniel seemed hesitant, claiming he was too busy to chat. However, when I posed a thought-provoking question, "Do you believe humans can live forever on earth?", his curiosity got the better of him.
He warmly welcomed us into his shop, eager to learn more. We shared the good news with Daniel, encouraging him to cultivate good habits and strive for a virtuous life. We assured him that by doing so, he could look forward to enjoying life in a paradise earth, where pain, suffering, and death will be a thing of the past.
After leaving the shop, we realized some members of our group were missing. We decided to wait at the junction for them to catch up, so we could collectively determine our next territory. While patiently waiting, I took the opportunity to review my tract and highlight key points to share with others. Sitting together, we exchanged encouraging stories about our field service experiences so far. Sharing our successes and challenges helped to boost our morale and enthusiasm for the rest of the outreach.
After a 15-minute wait, I was thrilled to see my fellow group members approaching like Jehovah's army, their faces beaming with joy and satisfaction. Their smiles were contagious, and I couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and fulfillment. It's a truly rewarding experience to serve Jehovah, the only true God, alongside such dedicated and enthusiastic companions.
The sisters were feeling the heat, so I kindly offered to fetch a bench from the nearby compound, placing it under the shade of a mango tree. This allowed them to rest and recharge for about 20 minutes. After our brief respite, our overseer organized the group to conduct Bible studies and follow-up visits with individuals who had received magazines and tracts the previous day. With that, we parted ways, and I headed out to conduct Bible studies with two of my students.
And so, another fruitful day of our circuit week came to a satisfying close. I'm eagerly anticipating another day of sharing the good news with our neighbors tomorrow, continuing to spread Jehovah's message of hope and comfort throughout our community. Goodnight ☪️
