Weekly Reflections #29: A moment with the sky!

Greetings my dear friends of Steemit and STEEM FOR BETTERLIFE

Today there was massacre at Prayagraj Uttarpradesh in the religious event of Kumbh Mela. There were millions of people who arrived in a constricted area, did not find a shelter and stayed overnight under sky. It's said that they were told to take the holibath before the auspicious moment. As people suddenly become unsystematically hapazard that a stampede resulted death of several devotees.

Yesterday I saw a gang of people came from Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation for overhead work in our locality. I find their work practice under the sky at a height was very unsafe. The entire load of workers was borne by the lamp post as seen in the picture. Moreover I don't know how tension of wires were balanced on the post. They replaced one wire by four wires for conversion into 3 phase wiring.

In modern industries Safety is very very religiously followed where nothing is compromised particularly with respect to human life.

So I believe any work done under the sky should be done safely. Here are some guidelines for safety.

Work at Height - Safety under the sky .

What is working at height..?

Any activities carried out at height more than 1.8m is considered as work at height.

Working close to any excavation or any other opening in which, a person could fall into it and be injured is also considered at work at height.

Quite a different perspective. However, I enjoyed reading your thoughts from G to T.

Now, I am thinking about the importance of maintaining safety while working at height. My mind travels back to an accident that happened in my 300L where a man was not only electrocuted, but burnt alive while working on an electricity pole.

It is sad how the sky witnesses everything - both the good, bad and ugly. But then, the sky is not always a happy lad.

Sometimes it smiles when it gives us the sun, frowns when the sun returns to its chambers and cries when the dust enters its eyes.

However, the sky is our friend. It spends every moment watching us and reassuring us that the sun would come out tomorrow.

Unique! You have shared an important discussion on safety, linking real-life incidents to workplace hazards, particularly in high-risk environments. The incident from the Kumbh Mela tragedy is a real tragedy! I have also experienced many such incidents in the construction industry! Thanks for this heads-up and excellent recommendations!

Thanks for the participation! Have a good day!

Thank you the encouraging feedback.
