The Importance of Management and Service of Village Public Information

In 2015 the Government passed the Village Law as a form of concern for the community to be able to manage their own management in terms of development, both physical and non-physical. Furthermore, each village will be assigned a companion as a village facilitator. The law requires the village government to prepare village public information for a form of transparency.

Village Public Information is information that is generated, stored, managed, sent, and/or received by the Village Government related to the implementation of Village Government, Village Development Implementation, Village Community Development, and Village Community Empowerment.

The Village Information and Documentation Management Officer hereinafter referred to as the Village PPID, is the official responsible for the storage, documentation, provision, and/or service of Village Public Information.

And the object as a Public Information Applicant is an Indonesian citizen and/or legal entity who submits a request for public information as regulated in this law. (Article 1 Paragraph 12). Furthermore, the applicant has the right to obtain, view, know, obtain a copy, and disseminate public information. Submit a request for information with reasons. File a lawsuit if you face obstacles and failures in accessing public information.

Public Information Users are Indonesian citizens and/or legal entities who use public information as regulated by law. A user has the right to obtain information and use it, but he is also obliged to use public information according to the laws and regulations. Include the source from which he obtained public information, both for his own use and for publication purposes.

In this case, the Village Government is obliged to

  1. Establish Village Regulations Regarding Public Information Disclosure;
  2. Follow the Village Public Information Service Flow Listed in the Appendix which is an integral part of this Commission Regulation;
  3. Budgeting Adequate Financing for Village Public Information Services in accordance with the Provisions of Legislation;
  4. Providing Village Public Information Service Facilities and Infrastructure, Including Announcement Boards and Information Desks at Every Village Public Agency Office;
  5. Establish and periodically update the Village Public Information List of All Managed Village Public Information; And
  6. Providing and Providing Village Public Information Based on this Commission Regulation.

Thus, the village will become a village that implements the principles/norms of transparency, accountability, and participation by involving all elements to provide adequate information services to the community.
