A machete is one of the objects or tools that are needed by many people with various needs. so that there is not enough domestic supply of machetes, resulting in the government having to import them. In fact, there are many talents from young people who can be developed to produce machetes.

Indonesia is experiencing difficult times in dealing with the covid 19 virus. And all activities are limited by applying strict health protocols to keep the community safe from covid 19. The side effect that will occur is the destruction of the community's economy with the restrictions imposed.

Many community economic programs have sprung up in each village, some of which facilitate some of them independently, in order to revive their respective families. We will get a lot of talent from the youth when we are with them in the villages. When we develop this talent, it will become the perfect talent to be developed in a better direction.

Based on reports from the community, I visited a village where one of the communities produced machetes for the needs of the local community. This machete production site is a private place for local youth to contribute to making machetes so that they can be traded in the market.

When I saw the place, there were many equipment needs that must be supported by all interested parties to make it a proper and safe place, in this case involving the village to prepare all the needs. The village must present a Village-Owned Enterprise to assist the needs of the machete production site with an agreement that the profits will be divided in half. Apart from benefiting the village, the community also gets promising jobs for their economy.

The place is actually very prone to accidents by workers because they don't have any personal protective equipment that they use when they are producing machetes manually without using sophisticated machines like the big companies out there.

The picture that we see above, shows that this place is not feasible to run because there is no personal protection at all, but the results are very satisfying. they are forced to produce machetes for the needs of the local community and to revive their economy which is very difficult during this pandemic.

The price of the machetes offered is relatively cheap, starting at 20 thousand to 50 thousand per ready-made machete. Or equivalent to the amount of 0.5 SBD per unit. This business can be developed again with the help of donors to help underprivileged people who have talent. They need the knowledge to be developed in a more advanced direction.
