Assalamu Alaikum Everyone,
Al-Aqsa Mosque is one of the most important pillars of Islam. It is also known as Masjid al-Aqsa. Masjid al-Aqsa means the distant mosque. This mosque is used as the first Qibla of Islam. Currently, the mosque is geographically occupied by the illegal state of Israel, even though it has fundamental rights. Why and how in this episode I will know about the third holy building of Islam, Masjid al-Aqsa. History has it that 40 years after the construction of the Holy Kaaba, Hazrat Yaqub Alaihis Salam built Masjid al-Aqsa in Jerusalem.

Later, Hazrat Sulaiman alaihis salam rebuilt the mosque under the instructions of Hazrat Dawud alaihis salam. The previous name was Baytul Maqdis, after the Quran Sharif was named Al Masjid al-Aqsa. In terms of sanctity, the place of Masjid al-Aqsa is after Mecca and Medina. Before the Kaaba Sharif, this mosque was the first Qibla of Muslims. It is one of the holy places mentioned in the Quran. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) specifically encouraged the pilgrimage to the Prophet's Mosque in Makkah and Al-Aqsa Mosque in Madinah.

According to the hadith, on the night of 27th Rajab Miraj, one year before Hijrah, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) first reached Bait al-Aqsa. Then the Holy Prophet tied Bora outside and entered Masjid Aqsa and prayed two rakats there.

Masjid al-Aqsa is not a single mosque. Masjid al-Aqsa is composed of 5 different mosques, including Qibla Mosque, Maraoni Masjid al-Karim, Masjid al-Borakh and Tubbatum Sakat. 5,000 people can pray together in this mosque located on 27 acres of land. The ablution fountain of this mosque is known as Alqash Payala. According to Islamic description, the entire area surrounded by four walls covering an area of 140 square kilometers is considered as Masjid al-Aqsa. Among these are the mosque domes, the Sakhara, the main Aqsa Mosque, the Nisa Mosque and the Madrasa, along with the main grounds. Right in the middle of it is the spherical Dome of the rock of Sakara. Sakara means stone.

It is one of the three auspicious stones in the bosom of the world. The other two blessed stones are Hazret Aswad and Maqam Ibrahim in Holy Mecca. Courtesy of this stone, the Umayyad caliph Abdul Malik bin Marwan built the Sakhara in the dome with the blessed stone right in the middle. This stone has a significant history. Hazrat Ibrahim (Alaihis Salam) was prepared to perform sacrifice on this stone by the command of Allah. From the narration of hadith, it is known that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting on this rock.
Al-Aqsa Mosque has changed hands several times during the period of control of the mosque. Since then, with the open and covert support of America and Israel, attacks on this first and holy Qibla of Muslims have continued at various times. An earthquake in 746 completely destroyed Masjid al-Aqsa. In 754 Caliph Al Mansur rebuilt the mosque. It was renovated again in 780.
Unfortunately another earthquake destroyed the mosque again in 1033. Two years later Caliph Aliyar Zahir again rebuilt the mosque at the same place. The present Masjid al-Aqsa stands on the site built by Khalifa Ali. Besides, during the work of various donor agencies, several parts of the mosque, including the pulpit and minaret, were added.
In the year 638, during the time of Hazrat Umar Radiyallahu Anhu, the second Caliph of Islam, Jerusalem came under the control of Muslims. After 461 years, conflict between Jews, Christians and Muslims started over this holy place. According to Christians this place is their holy place Temple Mount. This conflict started a historic war that continues to this day. In 1096 the Christian Crusaders conquered the territories of Syria and Palestine. Meanwhile, they turned Masjid al-Aqsa into a church. Then began the famous crusades.

In 1187, after 88 years of Christian occupation, the Muslim hero Sultan Salah al-Din Ayyubid retook the city of Jerusalem to the Muslims. Although the Crusaders were defeated, they began a long-term plan to conquer all of Palestine forever. The Jews asked the then Ottoman ruler Abdul Hamid for permission to buy land in Palestine. And the exchange promised to pay off all foreign debts of the Ottomans. When the sultan did not agree to this conspiratorial proposal, the Jews secretly occupied the land.

The British entered Palestine in 1917 and established full authority there by 920. At that time they appointed a Jew named Sir Shemiel Hubert as a commissioner there. And Palestine was opened to foreign Jews. Several notable events took place around this mosque in the 20th century. On July 20, 1951, King Abdullah I of Jordan was shot and killed while performing Friday prayers in this Masjid al-Aqsa. In the 1980s, two Jews planned to burn two mosques in Al-Aqsa and failed.
Imperialist America provided a lot of financial aid for the resettlement of Jews in Palestine. Within a short time, Jews began to live permanently in Palestine. On May 15, 1948, the Zionist illegal State of Israel was established by the Balfour Declaration. With the establishment of this state, the Jews became more reckless and started persecuting the Muslims as planned. Large numbers of Muslims left Palestine at this time and Jewish rule was re-established in Jerusalem. In 1967, Egypt, Jordan, and Syria fought against Israel in the Arab-Israeli War known as the Six-Day War. The Muslims were defeated in this battle and failed to regain control of Masjid al-Aqsa. Since then, inhuman torture started on Muslims.
Since then, the oppressed people of Palestine are continuing their bloody struggle to reclaim their land and Al-Aqsa Mosque. The crisis has increased recently after US President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
