As those who live in this computerise and technology filled society, the need for us as individuals and families to build a deep connection with our natural environment is more vital than ever before. Spending quality time with our natural environment provides essential benefits that far exceed our imagination.
Studies show that spending time with our natural environment goes beyond just our aesthetic needs, as it's plays a important role on our mental health and well-being as humans. For example, constant exposure to our natural environment is proved to be a vital way of reducing stress levels, improved mood , enhanced cognitive functions and help in the fight against mental health disorders.
It is interesting to note dear friends that spending quality time with our natural environment does not have anything to do with always being alone in a natural setting. It includes physical activities, outdoor with family and friends.
So whether it's going out for a walk in a near by park, having a nice picnic with love ones or doing some form of exercise, spending time with nature afford us the opportunity to exercise our bodies, and relax with others in a natural setting.
HOW TO INCORPORATE THIS HABIT INTO OUR DAILY ACTIVITIES?
We can do this by aside time in the morning especially on our work free days or during the weekend to take a walk through a nearby park, garden or natural reserve if any. Breathing in fresh air, listening to the sounds of early morning birds can be a good way to start our day
Instead of always eating our meals especially our lunch in our dinning table or in a restaurant, why not enjoy it outside in a nearby park or any clean green space, by so doing we all have a chance to relax with nature.
If you are living in your own house or private apartment, why not consider planting some fruits trees or a garden. Aside from having the joy of seeing those plant grow and caring for them, we will also be bringing an aspect of nature into our daily life
Engaging on outdoor activities like running, riding bicycle, working on your garden, instead of spending all our free time watching Tv, reels on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube is another way of spending time with our natural environment.
- Another vital way we can do this is by always meeting up with friends and loved ones in outdoor settings like a park and nature reserve, instead of their home and joints.
So my fellow steemians, let us all give a serious thought to this aspect of our daily lives, let see this as an important requirements for our overall well-being and not as a matter of choice.
