INTRODUCTION

The word of God is the revelation of God Himself. God speaks through His Word even today, that's why we need the Word of God Almighty always. Today we are going to take our juice from the book of Timothy.

1 Timothy 3:13-17

MESSAGE

A so called church, Grace Point Church, based in Tennessee, United States of America, has told their members that the Holy Bible is not "infallible" and not "the word of God", but merely a human response to God." The Christian Post reported in March 2021 that the said church and their pastor, Josh Scott, on Feb. 7 through a virtual service which they promoted on Facebook wrote "As progressive Christians, we're open to the tensions and inconsistencies in the Bible. We know that it can't live up to impossible modern standards. We strive to more clearly articulate what scripture is and isn't."

At this point, i cannot but remember the number one point in the Assemblies of God Tenets of faith. It says "The scripture is inspired: the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written word of God (2 Timothy 3:15-17) for faith, conduct and practice." Is the Bible really without substance error and therefore infallible? The answer is simply YES. The reason is that the Bible is the word of God, and God cannot err, therefore the Bible cannot err. To deny the inerancy of the Bible is to affirm that God can err and the Bible is not the word of God. Hebrews 6:18 is emphatic in saying that " it is impossible for God to lie"(NASB). Psalm 119:160 says "The entirety of Your Word is truth"(NKJV). Other scriptures affirm the same truth (Titus 1:2, 2 Timothy 2:13, John 14:6, 17:17).

The Apostle Paul clearly and emphatically declares, "All scriptures is given by the inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness"(2Tim.3:16). This is what we believe. Let us hang on to it no matter what the world says, "Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my word shall not pass away "(Mark 13:31).

Do not allow the doctrines of the word to undermine your trust in God and His infallible Word. The devil knows that if he can cast doubts over Gods word he has succeeded in shaking our faith.

There is no error in God's word.

Father, help me to see the truth of the scripture, to uphold and to proclaim the same to the world around me in Jesus' name. Amen
