Stop Violence against women

Few days before a young girl came under horrific acid attack in Summer capital Srinagar,J&K. The condemnations started pouring in as soon as news broke out and people continue to speak against the incident. Administration also swung into action immediately and nabbed the accused within 24 hours of the sad occurance. Some 5 years back a college girl was similarly attacked outside the college and this is 2nd such incident in last less than 8 years.

News reports suggests the girl was attacked because she refused the proposal of the boy hurting his make ego. 3 boys were found involved in the gruesome act.

For some days after such incidents occur people talk high of morals, women empowerment and other things. People also sympathise withe the victims but as the time passes the hapless victims are left to fend for themselves.

Yesternight I was watching a video of a father of one of the victims. The video is appalling wherein the father narrates the story of his struggle. How society sees his daughter and how he sold everything to meet the medical expenses of his daughter.

We should not look down and victims , they need our acceptance and we need to support them morally, financially and emotionally ..
