Contest - The Best Role in My Life.

In the grand opera of life we are actors in different parts. Both roles contain its core and its mission defining our personae and our choices. And to our dear Steemian friends, these roles shape their worldview, choices they make, and the way they approach life. Today, we seek to take them further to understanding their importance, and also proffer how these roles relate to our lives. Our ultimate goal is to generate a practical and involving discussion with opportunities to learn from each other and maybe even from friends.

Some people’s life can be compared to a puzzle, in which every position taken plays an important role in the overall sum. Roles are constructed over time through the social relations people have with the world, with its environment and events. For example, it is expected of one as a student to dedicate oneself to studies, to transformation, to the course of learning. To be a brother it means to stay connected through a relation and support your siblings. In a capacity of sons, we are inheritors of family traditions and burden bearers of parent’s destiny. Our job as doctors gives meaning and purpose to the lives we touch as patients with words like healing, hope and compassion.

Lives are wrapped around roles; roles are at the bottom of who we are, where we want to be, and what we want to be. As far as I am concerned, the roles played give the values, the responsibilities to be taken and the overall growth. What we do for a role is what counts and that is giving positive impact on other people’s lives and or society. For instance, when one is a good student learning helps in molding responsibility discipline and time management among others. These skills, in other words, can create a platform for success in other arenas of life.

The process might be a challenging thing to do but at the same time rewarding because we are looking through the assessment of our roles in the society. These roles may be assigned to us at some point as we live our lives, or they may be pursued proactively on one’s own. We might find out our roles by relating our self interest, self worth and self passion to the available roles in society. For instance, if our focus is medicine then a job in the healthcare industry is likely to help us define our part in the profession, which is doctors in this case. Ultimately, self authenticity can make a person live a meaningful life and take on roles that are right for the person.

As for the productivity and significance of roles in people’s lives, the aspect always remains individual. Yet it is in certain roles that the meaning is biolative: being a sibling, being a student, being a parent, etc. We learn about loyalty, company and forgiveness from our brother or sister. Most of us grow up wanting to be the best that we can be be it in school or in the work place we discover that there is the part of us that wants to keep on learning to educate ourselves so that we can be the best. While parenting educate us on how to nurture, endure and love unconditionally.

It also shows the complexity of life as each person is given a different position. They are a reflection of our beings and selection. When discussing roles one is able to look at the positive side, accept the responsibilities, and put our live to a purpose. It also can be helpful to share our story, our experience, and our lessons learned on the Steem platform for friends in order for them to learn about their responsibilities and perhaps find their calling. Therefore, let the joyous journey of building and creating the uniqueness and relationships in life be continuously building character by character.
