I walked up to my mirror chanting the magical words from the famous Snow White, “mirror, mirror on the wall, who is the fairest of them all…. “
When i was expecting to see a perfect man at the other end of the mirror, my monkey face shows up… displaying all the imperfections that I have tried to ignore over the years.
This imperfections are part of what makes us humans. When we look into the mirror, it’s not just our physical appearance staring right back at us but the emotions, thoughts, ideas of our internal self.
Sometimes, I wonder what the other guy at the other end the mirror feels like been trapped in the shadows of my movements, bound to mimic me endlessly. On a second thought, what if I’m the one been trapped and my mirrored image is living his life to the fullest?
Well, we’ll never know because that’s the mystery behind every mirror. They show us the true reflection of ourselves and also leave us questioning everything else.

If I hear "mirror" my first thought is the magic mirror as well. The one of the "queen" or other mirrors. They have a certain magic around them.
Didn't we share a story about a mirror? I suddenly wonder how it ended. Did we gave up on it or was it dead end because the mirror got tired of telling the truth?

Inactive for a few days must have missed a lot of things. I also know for sure there are many new developments or posts that I don't follow. This is the first time I can make a post especially giving comments about the mirror.
In our daily lives we can never be separated from the mirror. Whether intentionally or not we will see ourselves in the mirror. When we finish bathing then we see our face and for women especially need a mirror to do their makeup. For men also need to see the mirror just to see whether when combing our hair is neat or not. Moreover then think further when seeing wrinkles that are starting to appear, or gray hair that continues to grow.
"Oh, it turns out I'm old"
From this little sentence we can use it as a reflection that aging is an inevitability that cannot be denied, even though we know many products to delay aging. but as we get older we will definitely get older.
Getting old is a certainty, but maturity is a choice. From the moment we look in the mirror we can train ourselves to grow to be more mature. We can think whether we have been doing good things or prioritizing bad things?

Mirror is not important to me, After my bath, I just combed my hair , dress up and start working. A lot of mirror in this house of my boss but I am not using it but I can see myself in the mirror because I cleaned it by wiping glass cleaner everyday.

I like your #comment. But I think it's the opposite. It actually means that mirrors provide jobs. By working to clean mirrors you can get a salary or income. Mirrors are more important because with mirrors you can get money. No need to buy a mirror just to look in the mirror. Just look at your face while cleaning it. Just imagine how fun it is to work while looking at our beautiful face and we feel like we don't need a mirror anymore. Or maybe later your boss will buy you more mirrors while raising your salary... I don't use makeup and we had 1 mirror in the house never a fight about it (it can be used btmy 2 or 3 at the same time plus we have windows. 😁
I doubt maturity is a choice. Some children are born old and mature. You can clearly see it with born babies even those born too early. Next to that the sadness is that girls are more mature and not only because they are firced into this role and men are allowed to say they are not up to it, can't carry the responsibilities because they are too young (even if 5-10 years older) and society accepts that.
It is my believe that the mirror does more wrong than good. It causes stress, deoression, frustration because of looks. The inner, the soul doesn't count. It does not if a guy says: my wife is ugly forces her to hide, use make up and dress differently. It's the recipe for broken souls.

I use maturity as a choice because I want to say that many people grow old but so many are still childish. In fact, if they want to learn and take a wiser attitude, then within themselves they will grow a mature attitude. The maturity that I mean is not only physically marked by the functioning of the organs in the body that were not functioning when they were children. One of the doors in the bathroom that I occupy at the top is made of two sides, namely the inside and the outside. On the inside is a mirror so that we can directly or indirectly look in the mirror after taking a shower. For me, when I look in the mirror, it will be a lesson that hair that is starting to turn white and wrinkles that are starting to appear on my face are signs that I must always improve myself. I am one of those who do not want to get rid of gray hair or dye my hair. Every time there is a chat about hair, I always say that we are proud of gray hair. You have a mirror at the door? It keeps me reminding of the other way out like mirrors placed on the end of a wall where there is no way out. I heard no one talk about that
I doubt everyone dying hair does it to look younger. It's the same if it comes to wigs. It seems to be a fashion thing just like wearing clothes or a hat or a certain coat. It's no longer about comfort but looks and here comes the mirror again.
My youngest says mirrors in clothing shops are different and you are fooled by what you see. A better version?

You don't need guts to say something bavk. I find the way how a large group wioes obe away like a bugging horsefly annoying. I reas those same basic comments over and over again. No interest to engage. If that is the case say something about it, see if you can make that person talk and if not write the name on the list of those you will no longer interact with, not comment, not upvote.

We never know what one who writes expects for an answer. You read the part you cited but how about the rest he wrote. It's not the cited part only that makes a text you should see it as a whole. I don't see any reason why he should be shocked and shout for help.
Imagine he goes out on the streets shouting for help. You see him and have no clue why he runs around shouting like a maniac. Would you help him even though his face is perfect and doesn't look like a monkey?

Kita sebagai manusia hendaknya bercermin pada kaca, siapa kita, bagaimana kita ada apa dengan kita, semua itu akan kita temukan jawabannya jika kita bisa mengartikan kata-kata bercermin pada kaca.

You know what mirrors I like? Those laughing mirrors. Now I think about it I don't see them often these days. It would be a good thing to introduce them again and have a good laugh. We all could use that.
If you ask me, the mirror disappoints most people, and many would rather avoid using it because it mirrors what is shown, and it's hard for our brains to cope with that. Also, photos of us aren't mirrored, although the settings of smartphones are set to mirror as well (you can change it).

Entonces me mire al espejo y dije: estas seguro que es una buena decision dejar el hogar, no piensas en como se sentiran tus padres una vez se den cuenta de que ya no estas, crees que eso es lo que se merecen, tanto que han sacrificado para que a ti no te falte nada. Lo dejaras todo para vivir una vida sin reglas, donde a lo unico que vas a tener es a ti, si eso cuenta, crees que va a valer la pena.
En la puerta de mi casa una voz hablo a mi mente, aun hay tiempo de cambiar, tienes una segunda oportunidad asi que no la pierdas. De inmediato comence a soltar unas lagrimas mientras me decia a mi mismo no puedo hacerlo, no soy lo suficiente valiente para escapar de mi hogar. There was a time that the cleaner downstairs died in a road accident. I never knew it happened that afternoon. I was waiting for her so I could open the gate when she came. But no one arrive. Support to be she come at 2pm and its already 3pm. I walked to see her downstairs if she arrive . When I stepped down the staircase, there's a mirror on the wall,, by surprised, when I turned my head to the left I saw the woman face who is dead. That moment, there was no news about her. At 4 pm my madam cried telling me that Mama Fatma was dead on arrival in the hospital and her grandchild was unharm.

Last year (2024) there was a contest about the reflection in the mirror. It's longer ago but I wrote back then that I can't see my reflection or big parts of me or others. It always has been this way so I guess what I see is the only part my brain considers interesting?
Is the mirror magic, can it show one's reflection, of the one who isn't present? It can be and also happen without a mirror (energy reflected like jiva34 said). If one can see or only feel it depends on how sensitive one is.

It happened only once. He invited me going to his mom but the time we wanted to go, that's the time my grandfather woke up. They said that if I went out to their place with that little boy like me maybe I became a Princess in their kingdom. This is a very interesting topic if I do say so myself. Mirrors have come a long way since they were invented however I think they are very helpful for day to day lifestyles.
I would like to take this opportunity to debunk a few myths associated with mirrors and the understanding of possible truths that are not confirmed or that are.
What mirrors actually do is reverse the front and back. When you face a mirror, your left hand is still on your left, and your right hand is still on your right, but you perceive it as a left-right reversal. This has caused many to believe that we aren't the only universe and that there is a possibility of a quantum existence although in the other universe it doesn't have to be that what exists there has to be human.

In a piece of mirror one can see himself as well. I still use my broken mirror no need to buy something new for that reason.
There is so much more to tell about mirrors.. For example we have the "nacht spiegel" (night mirror) which isn't a real mirror but the name for the potty used in the bedroom to pee on (if no toilet in the house and not able to go outside because of the cold). I assume the name doesn't refee for the type of potties like they use in hospitals where the moonlight might shine on which gave it that name 🤔

A mirror doesn't show the real you but a mirrored reflection of what we (like to) look like. The brain is used to that imagine but is it you?
I left a video in the comment section where a photographer explains why so many do not like themselves on a photo. It is because our brain is drilled to see the mirrored side.
