The blue-throated barbet is an Asian barbet. They are very beautiful having bright green, blue and red plumage. Barbet is mostly found in thick forest on fruit trees and they eat small fruit and insects. They are very well camouflaged so it is hard to find them in green trees. They are very noisy and very common in Margalla hill, Islamabad.
One of my favorite birds to photograph and I love the color combination of this bird. I found this bird in the foothill area of Margalla hills and also deep in the forest. They mostly travel alone and sometimes are found with treepie and magpie.
