Railway Corridor Walk

There used to be a railway line linking Singapore with her Northern neighbour Malaysia. That was discontinued on the 1st of July, 2011. The closure was the result of an agreement between the two governments.

Since then, the 24 km railway has been developed into a ‘Rail Corridor’ – a continuous green passage that allows wildlife movement between major green spaces. It also serves as a recreational corridor for all members of the public. You see small groups of people walking, and cyclists using the path.

My regular walk route runs parallel to the railway corridor. Once in a while, I will take a walk along a section of the railway corridor.

Some photos from my walk recently. There are plenty of greens but not much of interest. That is one reason I don’t often use the route for my walks.
