Insects with distinctive and unique sounds are very often found in human life.
The sound of crickets often forms a hum and shouts loudly. produced only by the male.
A distinctive humming sound is made by male cicadas with the aim of synchronizing their calls.
The humming sound of cicadas is affected by weather fluctuations. In general cicadas like sunshine and warmth but too much heat or too cold will irritate them a bit. Different species prefer different times of day and each of the 3,000 species has a different sound.
The reason why the hum is so loud is because it can block predators
Cicadas are able to produce this sound because they have an organ that is unique among other insects, namely the tymbal organ.
Each male cicadas has this pair of serrated circular membranes on the back and side surfaces of the first abdominal segment.
