Brisbane stabber was on terror watch list

The 25-year-old refugee from Afghanistan who was shot dead by Police after stabbing a tourist in Brisbane on Sunday morning was on a counter-terror watch list, Police have revealed.

Police are yet to disclose the attacker's name whom they allege was "behaving strangely" before pulling out a knife and stabbing a random victim.

Detective Superintendent Tony Fleming said in a statement

we don't know the motivation for this attack, but obviously we treat it very seriously."
