Hello everyone, how are you feeling today?
To digress means to leave the main subject for something else, it can be deliberate or not but it is what it is. I do this a lot to the extent that I forget why I even started the conversation on the first place. I have tried not to make it a habit though, because I notice it mostly happens when I am excited or emotionally exhausted. So managing my emotions and remaining calm is the key.

To digress means to temporarily wander or stray from your original plan or thought. You use 'digress' in a sentence (in both speaking and writing) to tell the listener or reader that you've left your topic but are trying to get back to it. 'Digress' is not often used, as it sounds formal. Link

To digress is not really a bad thing, and I notice majority of people who digress get caught up in what they are saying. They are emotional about it, so they want to express their emotions, they explain deeply and do a lot of things not knowing they have digressed. But the good thing is that you can actually learn a thing or two from the digression if you follow it.

As I said, I digress.
