The King of the bar is not a real thing, because there is no title named as such. But I will say it is an expression that reflects someone who is quite a familiar face at a bar. Probably an award given to the most valuable customer or something, it can be named as the king of the bar.
From what we see, we know a lot of folks go to a bar and enjoy themselves. So it would make sense to bring up such a title to encourage the customers to do more year after year.
I'm not a bar person, I don't take alcohol so I have never been to a bar before. But I see them in movies. The truth is that this kind of title does not really matter in the real world, it is just a motivation to those in the business of drinking.
