HITTING TWO BIRDS…
Great things happen to those who don't stop believing, trying, learning and being grateful.
-Roy T. Bennett
Gratitude is one of those things that we can easily find in abundance in our lives. For this post, I will be listing three things that I am grateful for. I already have a gratitude post series that I started and I'd like to do one from the 30-Day Challenge so I’m writing this post, which covers both #hive writing goals of mine.
Here goes…
THE LIST
1)Netflix
As a film buff, I don’t have a particular genre that I can call my favorite. More likely, I have phases in my life when I watch certain kinds of films that reflect how I am feeling at that moment. These days, I’m not in a phase, but I can already see a pattern. The past weeks, I have watched:
- Extraction
- MIB International
- The Big Bang Theory
- Justice League
- How I Met Your Mother
- Old Guard
- Warrior Nun
What's on your Netflix list? Are you looking forward to new episodes of your favorite series?
Except for Justice League and MIB International, the others were not in my to-watch list just a month ago. And, it sorta just popped up, which is a shout out to the kind of influence social media and marketing have pervaded amongst us.
2)Family and Friends
Next on my list: Family and Friends. I consider myself lucky to have a great family and a fantastic set of friends who nurtured and supported me in everything I do and continues to do so until today.
Filipino families are almost always an extended family so I included my friends because they are considered as part of the family. Some of the things that I have received from family and friends in the last few weeks include: Genuine love and care, financial advice and support, friendship and as a sounding board for my ideas, income generating projects and personal and spiritual coaching – the good stuff.
3)The Hive Platform
It has been a welcome surprise for me to have started blogging on the #hive platform. I’m sure that the coincidence has been divinely inspired when I began blogging on the blockchain in January when the Coronavirus pandemic was still at its infancy. I am really grateful that I can share my content and earn here at the same time. Hive has helped me focus and gain more experience in blogging and to understand how to think as a curator at the early stages of planning the content I will create.
Being on #hive has also provided me with knowledge about how to engage with an ‘audience’, which might be of significance to journalism, marketing, literature, and other students. For sure, hive has influenced and helped jumpstart that creative spark and thirst for knowledge in me.
4)Health
What the heck, sometimes I’m not really good at conforming, so instead of three, I added a fourth one. I added this because this is an especially critical time to be healthy. There is a virus running around, being transmitted by people, and we don’t know who has it who can potentially infect us. It’s safe to say that everyone is a potential carrier. It is also safe to say that our first line of defense against the Coronavirus is our health. We can be assured that a healthy diet, enough rest and sleep, plenty of water and juice, fresh green vegetables and exercise will help us survive and partake in the new normal.
CONCLUSION
That’s it for now.
This is actually my first post following @tegoshei ‘s 30-Day Blogging Challenge. I decided to draw inspiration and pick out random topics from his list. I think that the essence of the challenge is to provide us with writing prompts to help us put up content; and in this regard, it had already succeeded with me.
P.S. I’m returning to my first love – fiction writing. So, I might be putting up short shorts, or mini fiction posts in the future. It would be awesome if I can write about a fiction topic suggested by YOU. Please drop a comment if you want to read a fiction post for me to write about. Just one suggestion will do. I don't want too many topics to choose from but just a few that might begin a writing inspiration.
Thanks and looking forward to choosing from your suggestions. All the best and keep safe everyone! :)
