Day 1370: 5 Minute Freewrite: Thursday - Prompt: barking dog

Hi there,

This prompt reminded me of a poem I remembered since childhood. I will attempt to translate it. Even though it would lose a lot in translation, I think its idea is cute.

One dog in one village started barking at the moon.

His bark didn't invade the silence of the night all that much.

Unfortunately, at that time, his neighboring dog didn't sleep as well.

"Hey, you, chatterbox! Quiet!" the dog barked.

Thus, he also woke up another neighbor's dog.

And then it started.

From all the village houses, dogs barked.

"Hey, quiet! Wat's the matter! Stop barking! Stop!"

It became so loud that people had to plug their ears.

The thing was that every dog honestly tried to calm down everybody else.

Unfortunately, a dog doesn't understand that its own barking adds to the overall noise.

В одном селе один барбос залаял на луну,
Не так уж сильно этот пес нарушил тишину.
Но в это время, как на грех, не спал его сосед.

-- Эй ты, потише, пустобрех, - пролаял он в ответ.

И тот соседа разбудил. Вот тут и началось:

Пошло гулять по всем дворам

-- Не гавкать!
-- Тихо!
-- Что за гам!
-- Да, прекратите лай!
-- Эй, вы?
-- Эй, там?
-- Ррррр...рр...

Такой поднялся тарарам, - хоть уши затыкай!

И каждый, главное, в серьез других унять желает.

Не понимает он, барбос, что сам он тоже лает.
