I walked, lost in thought. From whence, I knew not. But I was conscious of where I was going. I had waited long and hard for this day. The day I finally braved up to have a dialogue with my inner self. I observed my surroundings. The sun sunk back to her land of rest. It was getting dark fast and my mind galloped. I looked in the distance and noticed a faint pathway that led deep into the woods. Looking down I noticed my feet were wet. I had no shoes on. I wore no clothes too. Naked, cold and uncertain. I thought to myself, it must have rained a couple of days back. A heavy storm I presumed. I observed the pathway again and in no time, followed it. Like a dog follows its master on a hunting trip. As I walked, the path became more visible. I had been here before, the memory though faint. Fear suddenly gripped my whole being, like tentacles of ice. The road less travelled I thought to myself. As the forest swallowed me whole, I listened. My ears fed on a delicious melody composed by mother nature and her invisible children. The last masterpiece. The terrain had changed. This path led to the sacred mountain. Suddenly, the melody vanished! In its place, silence. Total silence! My eyes grew accustomed to the dark. Not far from me I saw a darker patch. A cave, possibly? I followed the path, curiosity nibbling at bits of my scattered thoughts. Then I saw a set of eyes, glowing in the dark. A cocktail of mysterious colours. Changing, like the famous Alexandrite. A creature perhaps? A fellow being? I felt somehow drawn to this light, the curious eyes. Visibly showing no expression, neither did the owner blink. I found myself right by the cave entrance. I walked in. My next step led me into another world. I was in mid-air. Falling, or was I sinking, floating perchance? Perhaps all of the above. I slowly closed my eyes, embracing the darkness, creature and being all at once. I remembered to do one more thing before I was totally consumed. I had to force open my eyes one last Time. But alas! what is Time if not but an illusion? My eyes finally opened . I SAW and KNEW exactly what I had to do...
