Breaking down or going on?

If you hear it snap in your head you have a breakdown and it's wise to take a break. Taking a break, giving up on what you do is hard. Hard but necessary. How easily we forget avbout ourselves. Not because we want to but we are raised that way. Society wants us to be productive if not you are scolded at, being treated differently. You have to keep in pace, running around like an idiot forced to ignore how you feel. If others can do it you can too. Can be but what if this isn't the case? What if you are out of energy, you don't want to have a career that needs you 24/7? What if part time is enough?
Many deal with mental issues and all those people need help. Professional help to find themselves back. Help that benefits them not the employer. Guilt doesn't make anyone feel better. It only adds more to the breakdown you already have.
A friend ended in a mental institution. It didn't do her any good. They never understood the reason, weren't open for suggestions. All they wanted is to break her and force her into their lifestyle. A style acceptable to a society not willing to embrace her at the first place.
